A largely undeveloped island about 7 miles long and 1 mile wide at the widest, Prudence abounds in wildlife including pheasants, rabbits, squirrels, foxes, mink, muskrats, ducks, geese, and raccoons. We're happy to say that skunks have not found our island.

A favorite pasttime on Prudence is looking for the whitetail deer. During the summer they can be seen almost everywhere, including your backyard early in the morning. A drive around the island just before sunset is when you can usually see the greatest numbers. During hunting season they try to make themselves scarce.

Prudence is home to a wide variety of plant life. By ranging afield you're likely to find apple trees, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, rare cranberries, purple and white grapes, beautiful oak and maple forests and pine groves. Be careful though because we do have poison ivy, and rapier like green briars known as "bullbriars".
